Laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery for neutering bitches
The advantages of laparoscopic surgery are greatly exaggerated by some surgeries (in some cases they make frankly ridiculous statements about the procedure and risks of conventional surgery) and we have complete confidence in using conventional techniques.
With good anaesthesia and good surgical technique our patients recover very quickly following conventional surgery, require very little pain relief and the risks of surgery put forward as a reason for using laparoscopic surgery are very minor in our experience.
Whilst we have complete confidence in continuing to use conventional surgical technique, there is no dispute that key-hole surgery for spaying (neutering) bitches is also an excellent technique and if you would prefer to have your pet’s surgery performed using that method we are perfectly happy to refer you to our colleagues at the Eastcott surgery in Swindon if you wish.
Laparoscopic surgery is usually more expensive than conventional surgery.
